Description of the course
The DIgSILENT calculation program is an advanced computerised tool which allows you to carry out various types of studies (load flows, dynamic analysis, quasi-dynamic...), making it useful for almost any professional profile in the electrical sector.
This PowerFactory DIgSILENT course will provide an introduction to the software that will allow you to become familiar with it, as you will learn how to model and execute tools, among many other capabilities.
CIRCE has been working with this software for more than 10 years, carrying out large European projects:
- Best Paths, in which a network model of the whole of Europe was made,
- Farcross, a dynamic model for damping inter-area oscillations,
- Interpreter, development of algorithms to generate automatic network models,
- Parity, an ANM (Active Network Management) tool designed for distributors and their distributed resource management.
As well as for studies of connection to national (NTS) and international networks.

Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to give you an advanced knowledge of the tool, being autonomous in generating static models (network model, wind farms, photovoltaic, etc.) as well as the use of the tools that you can see in the section of the training programme.
1
Knowing the structure of the software
2
Static modelling of elements
3
Realisation of load flows
4
Knowing the NTS
5
Use of the tool: quasi-dynamic studies, short-circuits and harmonics
6
Perform static simulations for the NTS
7
Use of DPL script
