ITAINNOVA and CIRCE attend the meeting of Spanish members of EARTO

The European association of research and technology organisations brings together centers from 23 countries

Weeks ago, the Aragón Institute of Technology (ITAINNOVA) and the CIRCE Foundation attended the meeting of Spanish members of the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO), held in Madrid.

The meeting, which took place at the Tecnalia headquarters, was attended by representatives from EARTO, AIMEN, ATIGA, CIRCE, EURECAT, FEDIT, IK4, INSPIRALIA, ITAINNOVA, LEITAT, TECNALIA, and VICOMTECH.

ATEKNEA, EDMA, and ITENE were absent from this event. Muriel Attané, representing EARTO, led the working session.

She discussed the Spanish members and Spain's participation in the Management Board. The priorities of EARTO for this year were a key point of the session, as well as actions related to Horizon Europe and other activities carried out by this organization, which brings together 350 technology centers from 23 countries and has 150,000 researchers, engineers, and technicians working in partnership with 100,000 companies each year.

In summary, the meeting provided an opportunity for attendees to request more feedback from EARTO on the development of working groups and to seek greater involvement from members in the preparation of “Position Papers.”

Additionally, there was a request for longer response times to better prepare contributions and the possibility of translating some reports into Spanish to facilitate internal distribution.

As a result, the possibility of adding some text adapted to the Spanish reality was discussed. The meeting was positive, and the representatives of the attending entities concluded that they should have more information about the activities being developed by EARTO and that more meetings of the Spanish group should be held to address current issues.
