CIRCE dirigirá un capítulo especial en la revista ‘Sustainability’ sobre tecnologías renovables y evaluación del impacto medioambiental

CIRCE to lead a special issue in the journal ‘sustainability’ on renewable technologies and environmental impact assessment

The technology center invites the scientific community to submit contributions on the topic until August 31st.

The CIRCE technology center will participate in leading a special issue of the journal ‘Sustainability’ focused on technologies related to renewable energy and environmental impact assessment.

This special issue will be dedicated to providing insights into recent advancements in these technologies and, more broadly, all fields related to the circular economy, as required within the framework of Industry 4.0.

The objective of this special issue is to gather research advancements and practices aimed at reducing the impacts associated with renewable energy technologies, including economic, environmental, and resource management aspects.

Relevant topics within the scope of this special issue include, but are not limited to, innovative renewable energy technologies, circular economy strategies, and methodologies with innovative approaches to environmental impact analysis.

The importance of focusing this special issue on this topic lies in the fact that the development of the sector, according to sustainable production approaches, has minimal environmental impact and provides acceptable costs for society. This not only involves minimizing energy and material consumption for the development of specific technologies but also ensuring proper management of waste and by-products involved in the entire production chain.

Scientific articles within the BAOBAB project

CIRCE’s coordination of this issue builds on the previous publication of two articles within the same journal as part of the European project BAoBaB (Blue Acid/Base Battery).

One article addresses advancements related to the environmental impact of different types of batteries.

The other focuses on the environmental impact assessment associated with the recyclability of materials used in battery manufacturing, with the aim of promoting sustainable materials 4.0. Both articles demonstrate CIRCE’s extensive experience and knowledge in the field of the circular economy and Industry 4.0.

Given the significance of this special issue, CIRCE invites researchers specialized in this area to participate by submitting articles related to the theme of this special issue. Contributions will undergo peer review and can be submitted online until August 31st via the following registration form.
