Description and objectives
XPRESS will initially focus on selected cities and municipalities in the UK, Italy, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Slovakia, Portugal and Belgium, with the aim of expanding the analysis and participation to wider regions within these countries.
The project will demonstrate the positive impact of innovative PPPs on cities and municipalities and SMEs in terms of energy savings, energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions.
Value proposition
The overall objective of XPRESS is to facilitate the introduction of innovative RES technologies and increase the share of renewable energy in final energy consumption through the following specific objectives:
- Creation of a web platform supporting the interaction between public buyers, innovative SMEs and end-users of green innovations.
- Mapping of low carbon energy needs of cities and municipalities with RES technologies developed by innovative SMEs.
- Improved application of public-private partnerships to innovative RES technologies.
- Increasing awareness of innovative SMEs on RES technologies through CMPs.
- Development of a new methodology to assess RES technologies developed by innovative SMEs throughout their life cycle in order to estimate CO2 emissions.
