Description and objectives
SHIP2FAIR promotes the integration of solar heat in industrial agri-food processes.
It develops and demonstrates tools and methods for industrial solar heat projects.
The project produces:
- A replication tool to assess the techno-economic feasibility of SHIP projects and support their design.
- A control system such as DSS to support process operation.
- A comprehensive guide to support stakeholders in the design, implementation and operation of SHIP projects.
- A capacity building program for professionals and students interested in SHIP applications in the agri-food sector.
Value proposition
These results are validated in 4 demonstration sites, covering liquor distillation, meat processing, sugar boiling and wine fermentation.
SHIP2FAIR aims to achieve up to 40% solar fraction, with 2.9 MW of installed capacity to produce 4.04 GWh, saving 403 m3 of fossil fuels and reducing 1,145 TeqCO2 per year.
