Description and objectives
REDOL aims to transform EU cities into centers of circularity, focusing on redesigning value chains for municipal solid waste (MSW) such as packaging, plastics, CDW, textiles and WEEE.
The project includes improved waste management technologies, waste sorting and digital tools to optimize value chains. It also establishes organizational procedures and business models for a successful industrial-urban symbiosis.
Value proposition
REDOL will be implemented in Aragon, particularly in Zaragoza, with the goal of making it a waste-free city by 2040.
The project is expected to save more than €14 billion and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 280 ktCO2/year by reusing and recovering 144,720 tons of USW annually, improving citizen perception of waste as a local resource and encouraging participation in recycling programs.
