Description and objectives
LECs or Local Energy Communities are playing an increasingly important role in Europe through the advancement of renewable energy grid integration.
Today, DSOs in their role in supporting LECs face obstacles due to a lack of flexibility in cost-effectively planning LEC connections to the grid.
IElectrix proposes activities to develop and demonstrate a set of holistic solutions and tools needed to further optimize local electricity grids in order to prepare for the advent of LECs as proposed by the European Commission's Clean Energy Package.
Value proposition
The currently proposed regulatory framework seeks to achieve cost-effective integration of connected distributed renewable energy sources by enabling all consumers to have local control of their own energy transition and therefore favors the establishment of LECs.
