Description and objectives

  • Technical and economic feasibility analysis of the developed solutions.
  • Best study practices for the design of network architectures.
  • Cost-benefit ratio of the evaluation of the most suitable smart grid solutions.

The project, which is a collaborative project between Spanish and Colombian entities, will be supported by:

  • National experts (Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira).
  • Analysis and planning expert (AFI)
  • External consultant in analysis and planning (Eclareon)
  • ICT expert (University of Alcalá).

The main objective of the consultancy is to identify viable solutions in smart grids and information and communication technologies (ICT) with great potential for application in Colombia, developing a roadmap for their implementation in the country.

Value proposition

Specifically, the aim is to define the roadmap for the development of the Smart Grid in Colombia until 2030, identifying the most appropriate specific strategies, as well as rules and regulations for the correct implementation and deployment of a smart grid in the country. CIRCE will be the entity responsible for the management and coordination of the project.

Additionally, it will participate in the tasks described below:

  • Identification of smart grid solutions taking into account their suitability to Colombia's needs.
  • Definition of the methodology to quantify the contribution of smart grid technologies to Colombia's objectives, prioritizing the most influential technologies.
  • Definition of the necessary indicators to evaluate the improvements of the different smart grid technologies.
  • Developing the necessary simulations to obtain KPI values
  • Coordination of the most suitable ICT solutions for Colombia
  • Coordination of cost-benefit analysis
  • Elaboration of Colombia's roadmap on smart grids
