Description and objectives
The construction sector has incorporated technical improvements, which allow companies to build more sustainable and energy efficient buildings, however, the training offer in this field is still limited and European cooperation is relatively scarce.
The FORMAR project will develop resources and modules focused on sustainable construction, in order to contribute to integrate this trend in vocational training and training pathways within this sector through the development of new and specific USTs.
Each UST is aimed at large blocks of professional families involved in the construction sector and is composed of the following parts, which are developed in each of the 3 participating countries (Spain, France and Portugal):
Analysis of the needs and existing training materials in each of the countries.
Identification of best practices and constraints
Development of training modules and resources
Translation from English into three languages: Portuguese, Spanish and French.
In addition, another UST will be created with transversal contents that will integrate the basic concepts on sustainable construction and “nearly zero energy buildings”.
Value proposition
The main objective of the FORMAR project is to develop training resources and modules to improve the sustainability skills of workers involved in building maintenance and renovation. The new Short-Term Training Units (STU) will be integrated into the vocational training of carpenters, painters, masons, building technicians and solar panel installers.
A second objective is to improve the information provided to customers and homeowners, through the development of a guide, in paper and electronic format, in order to facilitate customers' decision to purchase sustainable building products and materials. The guide will include not only the most sustainable products, solutions, or services, but also lists of qualified professionals with specific knowledge on sustainable construction.
CIRCE will carry out research on the current state of the training sector in Spain, in reference to the professional families into which the project is divided, providing its vision regarding the training needs of the sector, the current problems and the development of topics and contents of the different work packages.
