Description and objectives
FIESTA aims to help families to achieve significant energy savings in their homes, acting both on their energy consumption behavior and on their decisions when purchasing household equipment, through a comprehensive program explicitly developed by the project.
This program will be based on an appropriate segmentation of the market, taking into account vulnerable social categories.
Since the need for air-conditioning systems is an issue of growing importance that needs to be addressed urgently, the project will focus on heating and cooling solutions, which have significant energy saving potentials.
FIESTA counts on the synergic action of 19 partners (5 technical partners and 14 local authorities), involving 5 countries with a Mediterranean climate, which require extensive use of air conditioning systems, such as Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia and Cyprus. Energy Help Desks will be set up in the participating municipalities to support families and carry out energy audits in their homes.
The involvement of the families in FIESTA will be achieved through the activities foreseen in the project, carrying out specific actions aimed at schools, social residences, distributors and suppliers of air conditioning systems, etc.
Value proposition
To boost the interest of potential beneficiaries, several raffles will be organized within the framework of the project. The project will also establish 14 agreements with local Consumer Groups to offer special tariffs to consumers of efficient appliances.
The main objective of FIESTA is to lead families with children to save energy in their homes by changing their attitudes, both in the way they use heating and cooling systems and in their appliance purchasing decisions, encouraging the purchase of more energy-efficient equipment.
The project will focus primarily on countries with Mediterranean climates (and in particular those characterized by long, hot summers that require heavy use of air conditioning systems, as well as the use of heating in winter).
Specifically, CIRCE will be leading the development of the audit tool that will be used by the project partners in conducting household audits.
