Description and objectives
The vision is to instigate systemic transformations towards Climate Resilience (CR) in the Mediterranean, unifying and integrating all initiatives addressing climate adaptation and mitigation through Nature Based Solutions (NBS) and other designed infrastructures. The project will provide both the underlying structural framework and the network of 9 demonstration groups to replicate, transfer and scale up the solutions.
It implements, tests and demonstrates circular and nature-based solutions that foster digital, social and systemic transformation. It focuses on the Water, Energy, Food and Environment (WEFE) Nexus and spans the full spectrum of urban, peri-urban and rural areas and their interfaces to test and promote CR in the Mediterranean, offering an integrated portfolio of solutions and approaches capable of generating impacts across the region. Addresses barriers to widespread adoption of SBN. By 2030, more than 28 Mediterranean regions and over 70 communities will be connected through demonstration and replication strategies.

- Complete digital infrastructure: We develop a complete digital infrastructure that includes agents with specific functions, integration of monitoring and development of dynamic models. This provides a solid foundation for the implementation of innovative solutions.
- Customized assessment and strategy development: We offer customized assessments, system simulation, and strategy and roadmap development. This ensures solutions tailored to specific needs, improving implementation efficiency and effectiveness.
- New NBS designs or innovative configurations: We create novel Nature-Based Solution (NBS) designs or innovative configurations that maximize environmental and social benefits. Our approach seeks continuous improvement and sustainability.
- NBS technologies of multiple types: We apply NBS technologies of various types to address environmental and social challenges. From green infrastructure solutions to water-based approaches, we seek to promote diversity and adaptability in the application of NBS.
